Julia is the Founder of Pragmatic Radicals, which she set up to support people and organisations who want to nurture and transform systems, structures and teams. She works alongside organisations on projects ranging from organisational change to strategy to impact and learning. She is also an experienced team builder, facilitator and mentor. Julia has a track record designing and delivering projects that disrupt the status quo and shift power, working with Boards and leadership teams to unlock their potential. She enjoys co-developing creative strategies, solutions and partnerships to create impact and knows how to do so on a budget!
With twenty years’ experience in the sector, she is a highly collaborate leader and consultant passionate about social justice. Before going freelance, she was CEO of Primary Care International, where she spent seven years growing the start-up into a leading social enterprise in primary healthcare which has won numerous awards and accolades for its work including finalist in the International Impact category at the Social Enterprise UK Awards. Prior to this, Julia worked across mental health, community development and child rights for a range of organisations from large international agencies to small charities. She thrives in small, agile, dynamic organisations and has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities for small organisations.
In all of her work, Julia is committed to anti-racist practice and centring people with lived experience.
Alongside her work as a consultant, Julia is involved in a number of volunteering and interim leadership roles in charities across the migrant justice/refugee sector, including as a Mentor for the Experts By Experience Employment Initiative.
